Guitar and Bass 2024 Summer Programs
Guitar Camp (ages 11-15)
Guitarists and bassists will learn from Coast Music’s incredible staff and some special guests as well! They’ll have 5 days to focus on a variety of things that are essential for developing players. Activities include:
- Fretboard games
- Group patterned exercises
- Melodic and rhythmic reading
- Ear training
- Chord playing and chart reading
- Tone development
- Learning about amps and pedals
- Pick technique
- Practical guitar crafts
- Short outdoor excursions
Guitarists will be divided into small practice groups according to their age, level and experience. Family and friends will be invited to attend a short in-house performance at 5:30pm on Friday, June 21st.

- Pedalboard workshops
- Intro to multiple picking styles
- Guitar techniques in pop music
- Theory and reading
- Fingerboard drills
- Chord development classes
- Tone refinement and development workshop
- Guitar maintenance and repair clinic
- Soloing and improvisation classes
- Small group rehearsals (outdoors optional)
- Masterclasses led by some of LA’s most incredible guitarists
Out of Town Participants
(Ages 12 and up)
If you live out of town and seek housing, you may be interested in our host family program. We have a short list of trusted families who look forward to hosting our summer program participants. Host families provide a private room (or shared room with another approved participant), housing, breakfast and dinner. The nightly fee is $200/night. All families and participants will meet over zoom before the arrangement is approved. Please fill out the form at the bottom of this page if you are interested in placement with a host family.
