Anthony
Barracuda:
You’re already sounding great on this. You will be a big help to the band with all of the mixed meter sections of this song. Please frame those changes as strongly as possible so the band will FEEL those unconventional rhythms.
The Future is Now:
There is a unexpected and quite beautiful piano solo in this song that you will be playing. I recorded a video. Let me know if any of that is unclear.
People Are Strange:
Kelley
The Future Is Now:
This song is a BEAST on drums. Please make this your primary focus in your at-home practice as well as your private lessons until you’ve got all the details down. Here is a drum cover to get you started:
Lilly
Barracuda:
Fortunately the verse phrases start on beat one and then get heavily syncopated. This will help you know when to start. You sound spectacular!
The Future Is Now:
Keep studying this one paying attention to the “disappear etc.” sections at the end of both the guitar and keyboard solos.

Barracuda:
This tutorial is VERY detailed. You don’t need to add all of these elements but I think you will enjoy seeing the variations on the harmonics played during the intro and interludes. I want you guys to really have fun with those! FYI we have you playing guitar 2 on this song.
The Future Is Now:
Here is the intro and the main progression. The chords to change on the pre-chorus and chorus. Here is the band reduction so you can see the full form:
All Apologies:
You’ll want to capo this song on the 2nd fret.
People Are Strange:
Put You Down:
We are performing this up a half step so we can stay in standard tuning. Please be sure to practice to the transposed track on this webpage.
Trevor
Barracuda:
Your tone is beautiful and you have great facility on your instrument! The toughest part about this song is feeling the odd meter in the verse. I think about the verse having a 9 beat measure of E followed by two 4 beat measures of C and two 4 beat measures of E. Then it repeats. You will play a descending C B A G line on the second measure of C which will help steady the rest of the band.
Feel free to start working on the solo. That will be yours.
Here is a detailed tutorial:
All Apologies:
I know this one is harder now that we are playing it in G. Thank you for your flexibility with that!
Put You Down:
We are performing this up a half step so we can stay in standard tuning. Please be sure to practice to the transposed track on this webpage.
Vincent
Barracuda:
We are delighted to have you on Bass for this song. Remember to play the C B A walkdown in the chorus AND the C B A G walk down in the verse.
Here is a very detailed tutorial that is exactly like we were playing this EXCEPT it is voiced up the octave for most of the song except the intro. Check it out:
