Song List:

Mr. Brightside (The Killers) Lead Vocal: Sophia

The Trooper (Iron Maiden) Lead Vocal: Chloe

Forget Me Too (Machine Gun Kelly) Lead Vocal: Harlee

Santeria (Sublime) Lead Vocal: Chloe

Ignorance (Paramore) Lead Vocal: Harlee

We are playing Mr. Brightside up a minor third to E.  Please use this transposed track for your at-home practice:

Forget Me Too:

Here is the transposed track.  We are doing this song in G.

Chloe

Forget Me Too:

We didn’t record a video for this one because the chords were very straight forward and always in the same order.  G D Bmi A

Just remember that the Chords Change twice as fast in the Chorus and Bridge than they do in the Verse.  It’s just you and drums for the pre-chorus.

The Trooper:

The riff section after chorus 1 (1 min 12 sec) and after the guitar solo (2 min 59 sec) is different than the riff section at the beginning of the song.  Here is what you’ll want to play for those sections:

Harlee

Mr. Brightside:

I’m excited to get you on drums for this song.  It will be fine to just have you playing a basic rock beat subdividing with 8th notes (not 16th) on the hihat.  The challenge for you is to build up your stamina so you can last the whole song without slowing down. That will require A LOT of at home practice.  I want you playing this song all the way through every day to build that stamina.

The Trooper:

We are giving you a NEW harmony line for the main riff.  The real harmony is this lower one.  It’s not too hard but will take practice.  Let me know if you have questions for me.

We would also like you to play this intro harmony line:

Santeria:

Be sure to play on the upbeats.

Logan

The Trooper:

I’m so glad we finally get to do this song! We may do a simplified solo section that doesn’t go through the key change.  We will determine our song form at next week’s rehearsal.

Forget Me Too:

The chords were very straight forward and always in the same order.  G D Bmi A

Just remember that the Chords Change twice as fast in the Chorus and Bridge than they do in the Verse.  It’s just you and drums for the pre-chorus.

Santeria:

We are hoping you’ll want to play bass for this song.  It is definitely the most interested part of the song.  Let me know if you’re open to that.

Here is the full bass part with play along tabs:

And here is a simplified part if you prefer:

Ignorance:

Roberto

Mr. Brightside:

Follow this video to learn all 3 sections of this song.  You will be holding down the chords while Logan plays the lead line.

The Trooper:

This song is actually very repetitive and you only need to hold down the chords.  Logan is doing all of the heavy lifting. Focus on getting crisp rhythm with your right hand strum patters.

The riff section after chorus 1 (1 min 12 sec) and after the guitar solo (2 min 59 sec) is different than the riff section at the beginning of the song.  Here is what you’ll want to play for those sections:

Forget Me Too:

We didn’t record a video for this one because the chords were very straight forward and always in the same order.  G D Bmi A

Just remember that the Chords Change twice as fast in the Chorus and Bridge than they do in the Verse.  You don’t play in the pre-chorus.

Santeria:

There are 2 sections to this song, verse and chorus.  Be sure to play on the ‘upbeats’.

Here is the intro.  You’ll play the same chords but as arpegios.

Ignorance:

Sophia

Mr. Brightside:

We changed the key to better suit your voice.  Be sure to sing along to this transposed track instead of the original:

Santeria:

Nice job learning this song before we started it as a group!  You sound great.  Just be careful to not let this song speed up.  It’s very laid back.
