Summer Programs 2019
Registration is now open for summer music programs.
MUSICSTRAVAGANZA @ Coast Music
June 24th- June 28th, 9am to 1pm (ages 7 – 12)
Students will prepare a performance-ready piece in a fun, fast-paced environment, culminating in a showcase for family & friends! Musicstravaganza focuses on character building, acting, choreography, spatial awareness & more! The showcase will be on Friday, June 28th @ 1pm.
Linda Borg has her degree in Theatre Arts! She has taught performance workshops & directed various productions including children’s theatre. Currently, she co-directs & sings with LA South Towns Show Chorus & is a Voice Over artist. Linda is dedicated to bringing out the best in each performer & can’t wait to work with Natasha this Summer!
Natasha Suzuki has been teaching Musical Theatre for the last 14 years & has been Music Director for several youth theatre programs throughout the South Bay. She currently teaches voice & piano on staff at Coast Music & is thrilled to be working beside her colleague Linda this Summer on Musicstravaganza! Natasha also has the moves like Jagger!
Recording Intensive @ ARK Studio
July 15th- July 19th, 10am to 4pm (ages 15 – adult)
Beth Rohde has had a wide-ranging career in music as a performer, educator and music director. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance and Music Production and Engineering from Berklee College of Music, and a Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies from USC. She worked as a jingle singer for Radio Concepts, Cartoon Network and others. She has performed on 5 continents as a solo artist and with Les Brown’s Band of Renown. She has taught at such notable institutions as USC, McNally Smith College of Music and Coast Music. She currently produces projects for RWB Music Services whose clients include American Idol, The Voice and the Grammy Awards.
Ryan Johnson (above, right)
Ryan Johnson is the Principal Engineer at ARK Studios. While studying Media Composition at Cal State University Northridge, he had the unique opportunity to work for James Horner and the music department on the films “All the King’s Men” and “Avatar.” This experience led him to continue his work as a programmer/mixer/engineer for composer Steve Porcaro (Toto) on the television show “Justified” which was nominated for 8 Emmy Awards and won the Peabody Award in 2010. He also toured internationally with the Grammy winning band Toto as synth programmer and Keyboard Technician for David Paich and Steve Porcaro.
