Piano & Theory Lab
This lab was created to give our students the opportunity to practice outside their home with lots of expert support in a fun group environment. Each practice session is 45-minutes, and a student can sign up for 2 back-to-back time slots (90 min). We encourage all intermediate-advanced students to sign up for 2 back-to-back time slots each time the come. Each session is $30 and are sold in packages of 10. We will offer practice sessions a minimum of 4 days a week.
Students will be grouped by level and age, and the student/Coast Music teacher ratio will not exceed 4:1. Students will work together and teach each other as much as possible.
During each 45-min session we will practice the following in a small group setting:
- Flash Cards: Note identification, key signatures, rhythmic figures, musical signs and symbols, etc.
- Scales, Chords and General Technique: Drilling with instructor observation and encouragement.
- Music Theory: Students work on written theory work and teachers answer questions, grading etc.
- Performance Pieces: Working on challenging sections, transitions or anything else the students needs more support with.
