Piano Classes and Music Theory
Fall 2022 Piano Class Registration
Fall piano classes are now available for registration!
Beginner Beethovens (ages 6-8)
This class is for young children who are brand new to piano. We make learning how to play the piano fun, and we love to vary activities to keep young learners interested and engaged! Young children love learning with other kids too!
Activities include:
- Learning Good Piano Posture
- Discovering the Musical Alphabet
- Getting to Know the Piano
- Getting to Know the Music Staff
- Learning Songs in the Piano Method Book
- Fun Exercises, Coloring, Labeling, Mazes and More in the Theory Workbook
- Music Games
- Rhythmic Timing and Reading
- Melodic Sight Reading
- Improvising Rhythms and Melodies
All students will learn a few short performance pieces by the end of the session. This is a very small group lesson, and this session’s enrollment is limited to 4 participants.
Schedule:
Mondays: TBD
Tuesdays: 3-4pm
Fridays: 1:30-2:30pm
Tuition: $35 materials + $227.50/month ($65/class plus one-time $35 materials fee)

Online Piano and Theory Classes

All online classes include weekly live meetings over zoom with a Coast Music instructor and unlimited access to the corresponding online course. Students spend as much time as they need viewing the demonstrations in the course lessons, and they have all the resources at their fingertips. The following courses will resume in 2022:

Essential Piano For Developing Musicians:
Prerequisites: This is not a beginning piano class. We recommend 1-2 years of consistent piano or music study before taking this course. It is also recommended that students complete our Introduction to Piano course before enrolling in this class. Please contact us if you need help determining whether or not this class is for you.
Description: This class includes our Essential Piano for Developing Musicians online course with a weekly zoom meeting with the course instructor. This scales and chords course is essential for all musicians, not just pianists. We cover:
- Essential Music Theory
- Essential Piano Technique
- Major and Minor 5-Finger Patterns
- Major Scales and Fingerings
- Triads and Inversions
