Kira Levin
Voice | Piano | Songwriting
Kira Levin is a singer-songwriter and pianist from Hermosa Beach California. Growing up, Coast Music was Kira’s home away from home, taking 4-5 lessons a week and participating in the band and jazz choir programs. Her heart was set on saving classic rock with her award-winning local band, 11Echo, and being the second-coming of Heart’s Ann Wilson. But all that changed when Kira discovered a great passion for jazz in high school. After a few years of hard work and dedication, Kira was named a Finalist in Jazz Voice by the National YoungArts Foundation, The Music Center’s Spotlight Quarterfinalist, as well as one of Southbay Magazine’s 19 Under 19: teens. The South Bay’s Top Teens and Kids.
Currently, Kira is finishing her Bachelor of Music degree at USC’s Thornton School of Music (Class of 2023) under Kathleen Grace, Aaron Serfaty, and Jason Goldman, where she is an avid vocalist and percussionist in ALAJE (Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble). Through her studies, she has had the opportunity to share the stage with jazz fusion supergroup, the Yellow Jackets as well as sing with the top big band, the Thornton Jazz Orchestra (TJO). Kira’s passion for music and devotion to exploring sounds from all over the world give her an open and creative approach to teaching. Kira is so excited to make her students fall in love with music the way she did at Coast Music so many years ago.
