Kana Shimanuki is a singer, performer and educator.  Her 20+ experience in music and performance has given her a strong foundation to educate and share the art of music.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Ethnomusicology, Jazz Studies from UCLA, studying with incredible musicians including Michele Weir, Tamir Hendelman and the living legend, Kenny Burrell.

After getting signed with one the biggest record labels, Universal Music Group International, Kana toured around the world sharing her voice and original music.  She has recorded and performed on legendary stages including Capitol Studios and the Hollywood Bowl, opening for Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66’.

Kana continues to build her career and strives to always be a strong example for students and future musicians and artists.
