September:
You are killing this song! We can give you some horn lines to play if you’d like more of challenge. I’ll show you some of those options next week. One thing that will be a big challenge is to see if you can play and sing on the chorus. It’s tricky because the vocal has a different rhythm than the keyboard part.

Walking the Wire:
Don’t be intimidated by the black keys. Once you get the 4 chord shapes that’s the whole song. The chords just change order. You can absolutely use 2 hands if you prefer.
All My Friends Are Toxic:
You did fantastic picking up the drum part for this song! I can’t believe I only had to show you once and you nailed it! Here is a video so you can review it before our next rehearsal. Even though you don’t have drums at home it will still be helpful to watch the video to remind yourself of the pattern.
Riptide:
You will start singing on the 2nd verse and sing the rest of the song as a solo.
Harper
I Love Rock n’ Roll:
You already have this bass line down for the chorus which is the trickier part. Now you just need to work on the verse progression.
September:
Here are your September lyrics
Koa
You already sound really good on the first two songs but her are some drum covers for you to check out to make sure you’re getting all of the details correct.
I Love Rock n’ Roll:
We are not dropping the beat at the end of each chorus, instead we are staying in 4/4 throughout to make it simpler for the band.
Walking the Wire:
First verse is ONLY hand claps and finger snaps.
Second verse is ONLY kick plus hand claps and finger snaps.
Add Tom fills in all choruses but especially the final chorus.
All My Friends Are Toxic:
We ended up changing the key after we taught your part. We re-recorded it in the new key for you to practice before next rehearsal. This key is a bit easier than the original and doesn’t require a Capo. Let me know if you have any questions.
Riptide:
You will play Ukulele for the whole song but only sing the first verse and chorus. Here is your Ukulele part:
Reagan
September:
You are doing an excellent job with this bass line. The rhythm is really complex against the other keyboard part and you are nailing it! Remember to go to C on the 4 section.
I Love Rock n’ Roll:
This is the intro and the verse which are the tricky parts of the song.
You will do the guitar solo for this song. We kept it really easy. If you want us to make it more challenging just let us know!
We are so excited to have you play the epic guitar riff that happens throughout the intro and verse! No need to play the G’s in those sections. I rather you get ready for the riff and start on time.
Walking the Wire:
You are already sounding great on this!

Wilson
September:
Please bring your Flute next week! We would LOVE to add you playing flute onto the horn lines!
I Love Rock n’ Roll:
These are the basic chords. I’d also love for you to do the guitar solo line if you are up for it!
Walking the Wire:
You picked this song up really quickly. Notice the difference between the Verse E A B A and the Chorus E A C#- B.

Riptide:
I’m excited to have you try drums for this song! Play the Kick ONLY for the verse then Kick – Snare for the chorus. You’re part is simple but SO important. We need that rhythm to be strong and STEADY!
