Join us each Saturday at 3pm for a fun, interactive and educational broadcast. We have a variety of guests each week, and this education is free and open to the public viewable on the Coast Music Facebook page. Our guest this week is Superstar Coast Alumni and current staff member DJ Stanfill! DJ is going to discuss his path to becoming a successful musician and composer, and he’ll be offering invaluable advice. You can ask him questions in our comments section during the live broadcast.

Here’s more on DJ:
Since his early musical apex, singing and playing the piano has taken DJ all across the world. Formerly a Coast Music student himself, he was recognized as one of twenty U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts in 2011 for his achievements as a jazz vocalist. He went on to direct a variety of musical groups at Yale University, including the Duke’s Men of Yale and the Whiffenpoofs, who performed over 200 performances in 26 countries under his directorship. Another vocal group that he co-founded and directed, called “A Squared”, went on to compete on national television as a contender in NBC’s The Sing-Off in 2015.
Since graduating from Yale in 2016, DJ continues to enjoy a successful career as a songwriter, musical artist, and composer. In 2017, his band Opia completed two nationwide tours opening for the artists Marian Hill and Whethan. He has also written a variety of songs for independent artists and commercials and saw his first major label release for the artist Bea Miller in 2018.
In addition to fostering his own music career, DJ has always loved teaching in a variety of contexts. He is a highly versatile mentor who specializes in piano and voice instruction, with an emphasis on ear training and repertoire.”
