Chamber Music Audition Requirements

Thank you for your interest in Coast Music’s Chamber Music Programs!

Our goal with these auditions is to get to know each student and learn about their musical background, experience, goals, and aspirations. We also use the audition to determine readiness for our chamber music program and to assess overall musicianship across a variety of skills.

This helps us place students in ensembles that will appropriately challenge them without being overwhelming. Auditions are also an opportunity for students and families to ask questions and learn more about our chamber music and related programs.

I’ve been to Coast Music band and student showcases in the South Bay for several years, and I am consistently blown away by the talent of these students! It’s incredible to see how confidently they perform and how much fun they are having, and that’s largely because of positive environment the music teaching staff creates. Rock on Coast, keep up the great work with these musicians!

My 8 year old daughter went to camp at Coast Music this summer and loved it! She wasn't very familiar with most instruments but the classes taught her and her band 3 of their favorite songs and they performed so beautifully! We brought friends and family to the show and everyone was blown away. We're starting keys next week! What a positive and warm experience!
