Coast Music: One Big Musical Family
Coast Music is a family business founded in 2004 by Beth and Matt Rohde. Beth’s sister Angie Deters is the General Manager and Beth’s sister Marti Harris is the Band Director at Coast, truly making it a family endeavor!
Coast Music offers private music lessons, music classes, online music courses and summer music programs.
We are dedicated to enriching lives through music education. We believe that a combination of hands-on instruction and ample performance opportunities help our students reach their highest potential. Beth is a performer, educator, and Music Director with degrees from Berklee (Vocal Performance, Music Production) and USC (Jazz Studies). She has coached and performed on American Idol, Fix My Choir, and Christmas Caroler Challenge.
Matt is a Los Angeles–based keyboardist, musical director, arranger, and composer who has toured and recorded with artists including Jane’s Addiction, Christina Aguilera, Alanis Morissette, and Prince. He is a former Associate Music Director for American Idol and currently an arranger for The Voice on NBC.
Marti Harris moved to the South Bay from New York City, where she fronted several club bands, including Groove Apostle, Night Moves, and the popular blues band The Shade Tree Mechanics. Known for her powerful voice and charismatic stage presence, she also starred in musical theatre productions such as Chicago, West Side Story, Guys and Dolls, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
