Lauren Smith is a vocalist, pianist, guitarist, and songwriter. She graduated from the highly acclaimed University of North Texas Jazz Studies program in 2023, where she studied jazz voice as well as commercial music and audio production. She has been gigging professionally since the age of 12, starting in her hometown of Toledo, OH, and has experience performing in jazz, cover band, and musical theatre settings. She has been recognized by the DownBeat Magazine Student Music Awards (x3), Hal Leonard Vocal Competition, performed with the NAfME All-National Choir in 2018, and a National  YoungArts Foundation Merit Winner. Her most recent musical project was planning and executing a four city Texas tour with her band, Sevigh, where she is the primary songwriter and vocalist.

Lauren is extremely passionate about teaching and forming a bond with students over a shared love of music. She loves to help students of all ages achieve their goals!  It’s awesome to see their confidence and personality blossom as a result. Lauren creates a positive, nurturing environment, meeting students where they’re at, with a goal of consistent improvement over time.
