Addison Tharp

Addison Tharp is an accomplished composer, arranger, trumpet player, and pianist based in Los Angeles. He received a BFA in Jazz Studies from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre, and Dance in 2021. He received his Master’s Degree from USC’s Thornton School of Music in 2023 where he studied with Michael Stever and Russell Ferrante.
In his short career thus far, Addison has played at the Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia, Italy, where he received the Outstanding Musicianship Award, the Detroit Jazz Festival, and Carnegie Hall.
Addison is accomplished in many styles of music, and he encourages his students to explore various genres to unlock their full potential. Tharp encourages his students to be expressive and authentic, which is how he gets the best out of his students.
