Marti Harris moved to the South Bay area from New York City where she fronted numerous club bands including Groove Apostle and Night Moves, as well as one of the city’s favorite blues bands, The Shade Tree Mechanics. Marti’s charismatic stage presence and powerful voice also won her leading roles in many musical theatre productions, including Chicago, West Side Story, Guys and Dolls, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan where she studied musical theatre and holds a Graduate Certificate from the Jazz Studies Department at USC. Leading Coast bands is one of Marti’s true passions and a marriage of all the things she loves. Energetic and experienced, Marti inspires students of all ages to produce exceptional performances!
