Band Material

End of Beginning – Djo

Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvanna

Counting Stars – One Republic

Armin

Pay particular attention to the timing on the main riff for”Smells Like Teen Spirit”  It is a bit unintuitive, but goes HARD.  You will have heavy distortion, bridge pickup.

Noah

Mind your right hand on the main riff for “Smells Like Teen Spirit”   I highly recommend a strumming technique that keeps your right hand keeping time with constant motion.

Grey

Keep in mind the difference in note length between the chorus and verse.  The verse is super open with the notes ringing into each other, and a very even right hand attack.  The chorus/intro is much tighter, with a far heavier attack.

Harrison

SUCH  a tough song, but see how much of the snare/kick intro you are comfortable with. It CAN be altered to be more natural feeling, but I want you to give it an honest to goodness fair shot at practicing as it is in the record first.

Jacob

Your main goal in “Smells like teen spirit” is to provide the giant dynamic range in the song.  When its big you are a wall of sound, and when its small, you undergird the tune with the harmonic throughline.  TL/DR Go big when its big!
