Participation in a regular evaluation program is extremely important to ensure consistent progress, measurable learning outcomes and to make sure there are no gaps in knowledge. Students love participating in our assessment program where they gain tons of confidence becoming increasingly more self-sufficient musicians.
We currently offer music assessments for voice, piano, guitar and bass.
We recommend RCM for our classical music-focused piano, violin, viola, cello and double bass students. Please ask your teacher if you’d like to participate in the Royal Conservatory of Music exam process.
Each level takes 1-2 years to master, but passing within 6 months is possible for the highly dedicated student.

- Advancement in sight reading
- Experience with improvisation and composition
Please consult your Coast Music teacher before singing up for an evaluation. Students do not need to start at Level Prep if they have been taking lessons for awhile (2 years or more). Your teacher will know which level you should strive for, and they will help you prepare in order to be successful.
