Her therapeutic background also informs her approach as an educator as she utilizes her knowledge of human development and psychology to meet every student compassionately where they are across a wide range of ages and exceptionalities. Hana loves to teach music in a way that combines a high standard of technical command, theory, and intuitive sensibility that can be flexible across music of many genres, with the ultimate goal being self expression and creativity for life. Hana believes that musicianship is not only playing the right notes, but to use your body and mind to express, connect, and enjoy in the craft of creating sounds that reflect the human experience and the world around us.

When she isn’t playing or teaching music, she loves to draw and paint, practice Japanese tea ceremony, and ride motorcycles!
